I close my eyes
What do I see?
I see your intricate curves
Carved intelligently by the forces of the Earth
Through God’s majestic hands
I close my eyes
What do I hear?
I hear the soft whispering wind
Caressing my soul
Nourishing my spirit
Moving me to a sense of peacefulness
And happiness beyond comparison
Here in front of the deep blue sea
I see you longing out to me
Sometimes I just pass you by
Sometimes I just pass you by
'Coz you hide your beauty so very deep inside
You don’t glitter like gold
You don’t smell like perfume
But deep inside had they taken a look
Your glow is innate
Your smile and smell washes away
Every dirt that clouds mind and soul
I close my eyes
Tears rushing down this face
Since when has it been I searched you?
Since when has it been I heard your voice?
I had been lost
Lost to the artificial glitter of this world
But today my spirit rejoices, I see you!!
Lord, I thank you…
For bringing me to the desert
In its dryness and peacefulness
I see the richness of your love
I hear the thundering passion in your heart
In the desert….my deepest dreams and You are one!!
~as you can tell from this post, I am a great fan of the deep beauty and peacefulness of the desert. My posts and photos in this blog made some of my friends think I am a mountain and desert person. They always get surprised when I answer, "I love anything nature. I love the surreal beauty of the desert and its peacefulness. I love the soothing air in the mountains and the quietness in the woods. But the ocean, has always been and still is my place of refuge and rejoicing." The desert inspired post above was actually written during one of my "me-alone" moments spent right in front of the sea. The first one I wrote on that same day while enjoying the music from the crashing waves was In the Deep Silence of My Mind, an ocean inspired post. ~
What a beautiful, and wonderful poem! You're one with nature in this. Hope your first week back was great..

ReplyDeleteMiss Beth your poem resonates with the pictures...
ReplyDeleteoh, beth, this latest poem of yours actually brought tears to my eyes! i guess it's because i sensed that your words came straight from your heart, and i felt that you truly meant every line you wrote. you spoke so beautifully of the grandeur that is the desert! and you expressed so well the frustration that most of us feel from time to time - that we have been distracted by things of this world, which have taken away from our time to fully enjoy God's handiwork. so far, beth, this is my favorite poem by you. the others i can remember that i also found moving were the one about your love of the ocean/water (boogie boarding), and the one about the beauty of the peacock. i have known you for a few years now, and it is such a joy to see the poet in you unfolding, beth:) you are truly blessed with the talent to not only capture breathtaking scenes on camera, but to also speak about these nature scenes in language that is both lush and moving, at the same time. keep the poems coming, beth! i can honestly tell you that this one pulled at my heartstrings and made me search my soul, and i am certain i'm not the only one who feels this way. thank you so much for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I don't know what to say.... your photos are awesome!

ReplyDeleteYour images and words are truly inspired by God and shared from the heart which is why I truly love nature too. It resounds throughout earth proclaiming the love of our Father.
