simply enjoying
I find that the more I slow down to take in the beauty of the natural world around me, the more content and at peace with myself I become. Spending time with nature does not have to wait til I am in vacation, it's a daily lifestyle.

Death Valley.....does it really describe its name? Or does it show the other beauty of life we oftentimes neglect to see?

Fresh Water Tilapia Adapting to High Salinity in Salton Sea
White Sands (?) @ Salton Sea State Recreation Area Shoreline
From afar, the Salton Sea looks very inviting: white sand, blue skies, diverse species of resident and migratory birds, wildflowers swaying beautifully,
Wildflowers Blooming @ Salton Sea Shoreline
and sparkling blue sea that is bordered by desert mountains. It looks like a piece of heaven. A refuge for wildlife.

Purple Field of Dreams
Butterfly Happily Hopping from One CA Sea Lavender to Another, Torrey Pines- Del Mar Trail
Hopping Happily, happily hoping..... were the first words that came to my mind as we were greeted by butterflies fluttering happily in the sea breeze. These words, "hopping happily, happily hopping" are happy words that I heard first from my fellow TSS (The Salitype Society) sister, Zen of The Letters in November as she compares the beautiful and inspiring story of a resilient grasshopper to our resilience in surviving the woes and strife of life.
Torrey Pines-Del Mar Trail
The day prior to this, I had shared in my post about how the butterfly was kind enough to wait for me to allow me to take a picture using my cellphone since I forgot to bring a charged battery for my camera.

One Beautiful Weekend Through My Cellphone's Lens
can you see the egrets and other birds behind these coreopsis?
A walk along San Diego River....FIRST Regional Robotics Competition....a walk on top of the bluffs right next to the Pacific Ocean.... and a warm weather! A beautiful weekend that almost passed away with only memories in my mind to reminisce. Thankfully, there was the ever reliable cellphone.

Sunset Cliffs, San Diego
Sunset @ Sunset Cliffs
Sunset Cliifs is south of Ocean Beach and has several beaches below the cliffs that are accessible only through short but rugged and steep non-formal trails. The Park encompasses 68 acres of bluffs and walking paths high above the Pacific Ocean right next to Sunset Cliffs Boulevard. However, one can escape the signs of civilization high above by going down the bluffs.
Below Sunset Cliffs, the Busy Sunset Cliffs Boulevard is Hidden
Going down the bluffs however at Sunset Cliffs is not easy

Sierra Nevada Road Trip from Southern California
Since summer is fast approaching, I will be sharing here one of the summer road trips we love taking. The Sierra Nevada road trip offers one of California's spectacular landscapes . The Sierra Nevada got its name from its rugged mountain and snowy peaks. "Sierra Nevada" in Spanish means "snow covered mountain range".
