Wildflower Carpet near South Shores Park, Mission Bay
Weekend, it's time for this site to get updated again :) As much as I wanted to share more of the joys from my wandering in this site, but it's just hard for me to write on weekdays when my mind is so tired when I get home. Last weekend, I was reunited with two of my friends, one from Chicago, and the other one, also here in San Diego. Time spent with friends always is priceless. We had so much fun celebrating the joys of friendship and togetherness, and sharing our love for the natural world. Our first stop was at Mission Bay for the carpeting of wildflowers (above picture), which of course, can only be observed at spring. After Mission Bay, our next stop was La Jolla.

Harbor Seals @ Children's Pool
From La Jolla, we went to Torrey Pines Gliderport for sunset.

After Torrey Pines Gliderport, we had dinner at Jollibee. :) If you want to know why Jollibee is such a big treat for us Filipinos, you can check the post of my fellow Salitype Society sister Chay who recently featured Jollibee in our group's site.
The next day, we started the beautiful day hiking at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.

After hiking at Torrey Pines, we were too hungry to go a few miles to Chow King (another popular fast food chain in the Philippines). We had quick lunch instead at Roberto's (Mexican), nearest restaurant in the area at Carmel Valley Road. After our late lunch ( we had lunch at 2 pm ), we went to Carlsbad Flower Fields to enjoy the field of colors.

After the Flower Fields, I was hoping to show them the purple fields at Del Mar-Torrey Pines trail, but sadly, the purple field was already gone :(

If you want to see how this trail looked like with the purple field, you can check my post in purple field of dreams and slowing down to smell the wildflowers.
The next day, we explored the civilization part of San Diego at Balboa Park walk which I featured very recently.

After Balboa Park, it was almost time for my friend's flight to Las Vegas where they were headed next, where afterwards, they will do a road trip from Las Vegas to San Francisco, via Death Valley National Park and the Eastern Sierra. Our plan to take a fun tour at Seaport Village did not materialize because we could not find parking, so we went to Harbor Island instead. Harbor Island is just walking distance or an earshot away from the San Diego Airport.

It is from my friend actually where I learned about planking and tebowing, so our time together had lots of planking and tebowing poses.
Yeah, we just had to enjoy togetherness by doing fun moments such as these :)
Let me end this post with a friendship quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson,
"It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."
What a color sea of flowers.
