(panorama shot above, and the 5 panorama below were taken using the new panorama feature in the new IOS6 of iPhone, I just upgraded my software but still use the old cell phone)
It has almost been 3 months since we have stopped hiking the highlands of San Diego. Since July, hiking and photographing from the highland took a backseat in favor of enjoying the waves. I sure had a wonderful 3 months riding the waves, snorkeling with the friendly leopard sharks and other fishes, and tidepoling.

However, Saturday, we finally said "hi" to our hiking shoes and said "good bye" to our dive boots, snorkeling gears and boogie boards. Because it's our first time to hike after 3 months of all water/beach activities, we decided to take it slow by doing the easy hikes along the coast first. Saturday, we went to Cabrillo National Monument. The eastern side of Cabrillo faces San Diego Bay and downtown San Diego ( first picture above), whereas the western side faces the Pacific Ocean. At the western side, civilization is hidden ( two pictures below), so it looks like we were taking a vacation from a far away secluded island, but truth is, you just climb up the hill and you will see the whole civilization. :)

We had a wonderful time taking panorama shots using the new panorama feature of the new IOS 6 in iPhone. We did not get new iPhone, we just updated our software to the new IOS 6. Using the panorama feature is like having the widest angle lens we could ever have! We really enjoy capturing scenery that we could not do before even with our widest angle lens.
Sunday, we went hiking at my favorite place in San Diego, Torrey Pines State Reserve. After Torrey Pines, we went to Torrey Pines Gliderport for another short hike. We still can't get enough of using the new panorama feature in the cell phone that we keep on taking more than 180 degrees shot of Torrey Pines. :)

But it is not all about iPhone shots, I finally took some photos using my camera after its 3 months of hibernation. The three photos below were taken using my dlsr camera this past weekend, and the last one from last year at this same spot, however, I did not see any dolphins that close today, so I zoomed instead to the surfers hiking up the slopes. :)

ReplyDeleteYou've got the talent for photography, I'm impressed. Those photos are just so pretty. My daughter had been bugging me to get a DSLR. But myself being a frugal mom and always wary of big ticket purchases, I told her I'd think about it. Because of that, she does what she can with the digicam we got. And I must say, she's doing pretty good. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those Panorama shots! :)
