Where The Aliens Will Most Likely Land

Where The Aliens Will Most Likely Land
Currently suffering from "lazyitis" and "blogger's block", where I could not bring myself to write what I really wanted to write, huhuhu, I instead take delight into dreaming of being transported again to places that continues to inspire me. I have mentioned before that each time I have a longing, my heart always long to go to the desert, where the aliens will probably most likely land. Though I prefer to live closest to the ocean, and I am so thankful to God for transplanting me to San Diego, where I could enjoy most "hiking and the ocean" without having to take vacation, but there are times where my heart and mind wander to other places..... places that had inspired me, places that haunt me, places that call out to me. At this very moment, I take joy in resting my dreams in these magical desert forms below.
Double O Arch, Arches National Park, Moab, Utah

Mesa Arch, Canyonlands National Park, Moab, Utah
Delicate Arch, Arches National Park, Moab, Utah

Both Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park are in Moab, Utah, and at this very moment, I take joy in dreaming that I am hiking and exploring Arches and Canyonlands, two National National Parks with amazingly surreal landscape. Being there makes me feel I am in another planet where the aliens will most likely land.
I love the desert,  as much as I love the oceans and the mountains. What I like most about the desert is the deep solitude. In the desert's dryness, I see the richness of God's love. In its extreme solitude ( so heavenly peaceful and quiet), I hear the thundering passion of HIS heart. In the desert, I get to enjoy listening to the deepest beatings in my heart....of finding JOY IN GOD ALONE.
A lot of times, I am asked, "why do you want to travel to the desert?" They always have this notion that there is nothing in the desert to see, that it is simply a wasteland. That it is "super hot" and I would probably burn in hell for being too hot.

The desert is not a wasteland that most people paint it to be. In fact, in it, I see a lot of God's magnificent work. In it, I also see our Mother Earth's geological past that would help us prepare for what is to come.

It may be hot at some times of the year, but it can also be too cold at other times of the year. There are other deserts such as the deserts in Antartica that never get hot!
Fall ( not yet winter ) @ Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
Not all desert is barren,

Most of all, the desert is not burning in hell...... it is a paradise to witness the miracle of a drop of water.

Hmmmm, earlier, I thought I had a "blogger's block". I could not make my mind write anything but Math and Chemistry. Then, I closed my eyes, opened my heart to places where the aliens will most likely land, before I know it, I found myself having written too much already! Hehehe! In the dryness of the desert, I saw words etched in my heart that flowed easily in this post.
Ok, I must stop now before I end up talking endlessly about finding joy in the surreal and magical beauty of desert. Ahhhhh, so very glad to have let my heart come to the desert again.

Lord, I thank you…
For bringing me to the desert
In its dryness and peacefulness
I see the richness of your love
I hear the thundering passion in your heart
In the desert….my deepest dreams and You are one!!

  2. I've never been to Utah...and well so many other places. Did I tell you that we've started hiking again? With T, and family with kids so that she can stay entertained. It works well.

  7. I could just have my "me" time to be in awe with this place and shout my thoughts. I could just wander with the beautiful flowers and colors of autumn.

  9. I disagree with your thought Betchai, kasi if I am an alien from a far away galaxy, I guess, I will not be awed by things that resembles my place. I will be amazed to see oceans of water kasi alam ko dito lang sa Earth my water and not water vapors but vast Waterworld.

  10. Ms. Betchai, told you-- you only need to look at your photo archive and you will be filled with words again to write a very long post! :D I love all the shots you shared! There are too many beautiful scenes out there that are such a joy to look at with our own eyes. I am so glad you've been to many of those and you've freely shared your snaps with us! :)

I always experience blogger's block. All I do about it is to sleep and when I wake up everything's ok na. I guess every person is different naman talaga. You should take a break Ate Betchai and see nature :)
