Finding Refuge and Healing In Nature

Twitter
Though it is heartbreaking to see the wrath and unforgiving forces of nature, but....nature has and will continue to be my haven, my source of rejuvenation, a place where I find healing....calming me down in the midst of turbulent winds and seas.

These may be same old, same places I frequent here in San Diego to take refuge....to get healing from everyday's toll....but nevertheless, they never fail to bring me a sense of peacefulness, and thankfulness.

My weekend is a routine I know, a routine of finding strength and energy in nature. We planned to hike to a canyon between Gliderport and Scripps Coastal Reserve from La Jolla Shores, but the tide was so high we could not walk on some areas for the waves were crashing right next to the cliffs that we ended up retreading and took a relaxing walk instead on top of the cliffs.

Then, we took a relaxing hike at Lake Poway.

A little boy I met at the trails asked me, " did you catch a lot of fish?" I told him, "no, I am simply hiking." Then, a few yards after passing him, hubby pointed out to me a school of fish swimming.

The water at Lake Poway was so crisp clear that we could see the fish swimming from the lake shore. Had I captured these fishes before the boy asked me, I could have told him, "yes, I caught a lot of fish! with my camera!" :)
Here are some more pictures from my weekend's nature therapy.

  4. Images so soothing to the soul! One can never go with the view of the nature, eh? It is my best consolation when I feel so down and stressed. I am thankful I live close to the trail here. :)

Another nature quote that we could relate to. Cheers to the nature seekers in us! When i can't get my dose of nature because i'm stuck indoors, i always come here for a relaxing nature treat. Thanks to your breathtaking photos of nature that become so alive with your stories and descriptions. :)

  8. I guess it is natures way to make the things around us beautiful and they also know how it will be destroyed, but we shouldn't be worry because i'm sure that once it will be, on the other hand of that destruction is something more calming in many years to come.

  12. your blog domain says it all "The Joys of Simple Life." It's about enjoying little things everyday. When the golf behind our backyard was still open for us, I would have the chance for me to relax and sit on the grass, reflect and enjoy the swaying of the trees and the sweet caress of the air. Everything in it made me feel comfortable and with the dogs playing at the golf, we would run together and I would increase my speed just for them to chase me.. :D

This is a very nice post! It made me remember the old times! :D

  15. Looks like I can really find peace and serenity in here. Just last week I thought of going some place quiet... I just wanted to relax. This is far from where we live but I'll take note of the place just in case we visit west. :)

  16. Bet what we enjoy and what destroys are all in the same, but we pursue the beauty, not the ugly and some times even in the ugliest, there will be beauty
